Apollo Hospital becomes Lanka Hospitals to Care & Cure the Nation’s People with Personalized Attention
Apollo Hospitals Colombo, one of the largest privately built hospitals in Sri Lanka which is now controlled by the state, officially changed its name to Lanka Hospitals today under the chief presence of Mr. Nivard Cabraal – Governor of Central Bank together with the Chairman of Lanka Hospitals Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa – Secretary of Defence of Sri Lanka.
Lanka Hospitals unveiled the logo for the renamed institution ceremoniously at the auspicious time of 3.05pm today at an event held at the hospital premises amidst the presence of the hospital management, specialists, staff and other special invitees. The hospital’s logo, which one may think is the standard hospital cross, has taken shape through the formation of 4 letter Ls, depicting Lifeblood - the healing and wellbeing of the nation’s people, Leap - the advanced technology they possess that sets them apart from the rest, Link - their multicultural, multilingual staff who ensure that care is available to all regardless of race or religion & Luxury - their star-class treatment, all of which come together to form the cross, symbolizing a place of care and comfort for all.
"The new logo represents our devotion and dedication to our cause - our understanding of our customers’ medical needs and our belief that everyone requires an equal amount of attention when they walk in through our doors, without discrimination,” said Lakith Peiris, CEO of Lanka Hospitals.
Addressing the media, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Managing Director of Sri Lanka Insurance – the controlling shareholder of Lanka Hospitals, who is also, a Member of the Board of Directors at Lanka Hospitals, said the hospital today stands on the threshold of a new beginning. “I can assure you that our vision for the Company is one that aspires to achieve the highest level of corporate excellence in the immediate future. Our vision for the Company mirrors the bold vision of H.E the President for our nation. In the year ahead we will put in place a number of strategic initiatives which aim to propel Lanka Hospitals to be positioned as a hospital and a corporate that is truly world-class. Furthermore, as a part of our vision to become the national health care provider, Lanka Hospitals will in future set up a chain of hospitals to take quality health care, at an affordable price to people living even outside Colombo. To this effect, our medium term goal is to be recognized as one of the best healthcare solutions provider in the South Asian region.”
